Are 1976 CR250 and MR250 seat pan the same (design, form, fit, etc)?

Nope. The MR is shorter in the front, longer in the back, metal and has a recess for the top of the airbox. The CR is plastic with no recess. If you use a CR tank on your MR, the CR seat will fit and looks better than the MR seat (no wide gap between the tank and seat). But you do have to remove the top of your airbox to use the CR seat on an MR.
