I have to pistons for my 73-74 cr250m cylinder both are made by wiseco. One is new it has a normal skirt the other one was made back in the day and it has port holes cut into the skirt. Why does wiseco not do this anymore were there reliability issues or somthing?

Usually, the port holes are for reed valves. Wiseco sold reed valve kits once upon a time. I have a new one in the box for a CR125.
