Anybody know of someone that can trick out stock 79 CR forks? What were some of the kits for these back in the day (Terry Cable is all I can think of.) Does Race Tech make gold valves for these forks?

I have heard that drilling a 1mm hole in the damping rod and using lighter weight oil makes these forks better, as does using DG or Pro-tech air caps. However most people replace the forks with a 43mm Showa front-end from a 1983 CR480R. Race Tech does parts for these newer forks. Some lucky folks have found 44mm Fox Factory forks or 38mm Simons...

Michael,

You don't really have to be lucky, just willing to pay through the nose.
