If you just drain the transmission in place, put 500 cc back in. If you are doing a re-build put 750 cc in. There is a cross-head/hex oil level screw on the right-hand side of the motor , but I do not use this method to check there is enough oil in the transmission. I use motorcycle-specific Bel-Ray SAE80 weight oil rather than automotive products to avoid any friction modifiers that will hurt performance of the clutch.
