Post subject:  1973 cr250 carb selection

Hi Guys
New to the forum here, thought I would give it a try. I have a 73CR250 Elsinore I am racing in vintage motocross. I am currently running the 34mm Keihin carburetor on my bike and would like to switch out to the Mikuni carb. I understand that these are a little more tuner friendly and parts are easier to find.
I see a lot of guys are using the 36mm. Why use the 36 over the 34? Don’t I need new boots to run the 36 set up? Can anybody supply some jetting recommendations for both the 34 and 36 sizes? I am at 4000 ft. Maybe a good sources to find these carbs?
Thanks for any info!
