Can you wire the magneto from an mt250 straight to the spark plug through the coil. It is a 3 coil magneto. i dont want any lights, just spark.
Thanks
Andrew

all electricity starts out ac. Youve basically got north south magnetic fields. That being said stators typically start out 3 phase ac power. (3wires) so you can test and verify with a digital.multimeter set on 200 or 600v ac by cross checking wires while kicking it over. Some say.you should see 40 to 90 volts.or some crap but not true it depends on the stator and whether the stator is performing correctly. i always start at 600v setting and get a baseline and if its under.200 consistently i switch too 200vac setting and get an accurate read. Ive got an R1 yamaha which r notorious for jacked up electrical that the stator produces 4-500+ volts ac. So anyways the rectifier is an ac/dc converter and once you convert to dc power you must choose what your loads will be. Although the mr came out 6v thats irrelavent to how you retrofit. If youve got 6v headlight and lighting then you have to use a 6v regulator. But if your bike doesnt have components you HAVE TO KEEP well its up to you. Meaning if you wanna run a 12v coil and lights go ahead but youve just gotta use everything the same load . 6 or 12v as your regulator. And no you cant power any coil without first rectifying then regulating yor power output. :D
