Hello there! New to site. I am currently rebuilding the bottom end on my 74 cr125. I read in a post somewhere that someone had an issue with the Boss Bearing bearing and seal kit. In my search it seems like they are the most readily available source for bearings and seals. Curious if any one has had issues or success with their kit and if so suggestions on an alternate source? Also curious if anyone has found a source for transmission shaft needle bearings. Thank you!

I would avoid aftermarket bearing/seal kits for this motor.

Here's a diagram with part numbers, if you don't have it already:

You should be able to get the seals, gaskets, and ball bearings from either Honda or eBay.

The 91014-360-006 / 91106-KC6-003 15x22x12 needle bearing (LH mainshaft) is an IKO TA1512 / TA1512Z, and may sub to a JHB HK152212. OEM Honda bearings are getting hard to find.

91016-360-006 / 91016-444-004 15x23x12 needle bearing (RH countershaft) - the NTN NK15/12 is a nearly exact sub for the OEM IKO bearing and is currently available on eBay, and I believe the HK152312 bearing is usable as well.

Thank you Ray for your reply and valuable advice. When I originally looked up the parts on service Honda site it showed that main seals 91203-360-003 and 91204-360-003 were not available which lead me to the consideration of the aftermarket kit. With the exception of those 2 seals and the needle bearings everything else was still available. Does your listing of alternate part #s for the needle bearings mean they are available? Thanks again.

Erik

Erik,

The availability of these needle bearings changes all the time. I've seen months pass without any on eBay or Google, then all of a sudden one or more will appear (and will usually be purchased quickly, although not always).

Ray

P.S. I sent you a PM.
