I am interested in replacing my non-functioning Keihin carburetor on my 1974 MT250. After speaking with the folks at Sudco they have a 28mm round slide Mikuni that would be a direct replacement. They however recommend the 34mm Mikuni which would require modifying both the airbox and motor side of the motorcycle by 8mm and 5mm respectively. I'm sure some of you knowledgeable folks have accomplished this. How did you go about doing it?
Thanks in advance for your replies.

I have a vm36 on my mt250 I used a cr250m aftermarket intake not sure if they are available still and I removed the air box and went with a uni pod filter.
