I started an 85 CR125 project last year. After I tore it down I found a broken frame, swing arm, radiator etc. I was about to have the frame welded back up and replace the swing are but recently I found an 85 cr250 bike without a motor for sale locally. Will my 125 fit using the 250 motor mount tabs on that frame? Will I have fitment issues between frames? If I have to rework some stuff if there any advantage to the 250 suspension or other parts? Did the 85 CR250 come with a rear drum brake or a disc? The pic with the bike online looks to have a drum just like my 125. Sorry for all the questions I'm :) excited

I know the 85 will have rear drum brakes as the 1986 cr250 was the last year for drum brakes. As far as mounting your 125 into the 250 frame I will let someone with more experience help you there. Myself I would look for a 125 frame on ebay and make the project easier. I do believe there was a difference in the suspension from the 125 to the 250. Best of luck in your project.
