I have a 1974 MT 250. I buddy gave me his Cr 250 cylinder and head. He could not recall if it was a 1974 or a 1975. I would really like to put a CR 250 top end on my Mt 250.

I have read that if it is a CR 1975 top end that it may not be compatible with my 74 MT 250. Is there something I can check to see if it might be compatible?

If it is a 75 can someone help me understand what the problem is in fitting these two together?

If it is a 75 is this something I can fix or is the project a lost cause?

Thank you for your help and expertise.
