Finding an aluminum swingarm for a 79 honda cr250 is proving next to impossible. Has anyone tried to modify an 82/83 prolink swingarm to a twinshock configuration? What kind of problems have you encountered with strength after rewelding? Will the bearings on the prolink match up to the 79 cr250 pivot bolt? Will the rear axle match up to the swingarm? Any help will be greatly appreciated!

converted a 83 480 swingarm to fit my 80 250.
you will need an 83 rear axle, selfmade rear engine mount, brake rod and stay, distances for the rear wheel or use an 82 or 83 wheel as i did, maybe some other things i do not remember at the moment. :D

b-joe, thanks for the reply. I was lucky enough to find a thor arm that fit like a glove, so I have abandoned this project. You did beautiful work to get the cr480 arm to work, especially that milled motor bracket. I feel that your answer to my question is probably beyond my fabrication abilities. Thanks, Brad
