Hi all. Original bits are very difficult to find here in the UK. As I have no filter box cage or lid I will have to rely on a filter element and a bit of diy. What filter elements are you guys using? Especially if the originals are not available? |

hello, my filter box, cover etc. needed to be blasted inside and out after being off the road for 5 years (mice pee), and then painted. easier for me to install a UNI 4300AST dual stage filter. i used a very short section of 3 inch exh pipe to connect from the rubber adapter to the UNI. i selected a filter that was angled slightly up, for clearance to a frame crosspiece. also had to trim the fender a smidge. can send pics if you'd like, but a little later as i'm going out snowshoeing this afternoon. 22 F : ) |

That's interesting. I was thinking of buying some filter foam and having a go at making a filter but your idea sounds good. So yes, any pics would be good. thanks |

bike is mid-project, but here is a pic of the filter. carb inlet rubber ID and uni filter inlet ID are both around 3inch, so i cut to length a piece of 3inch exhaust pipe. cut length so each end is fully seated, but as short as possible for less overhang. seems rigid enough, but i may secure the assembly to the frame. i still need to fab a shield below the stock fender. i'll be running the stock side covers. Nice job, that should well do the job. I still have the filter box fitted so I will have the filter element fitted inside the box. Your set up could still work with mine. thanks. |

Re-Mx has the UNI NU-4012 MT250 air filter, which has a plastic cage built into it and doesn't need the often-lost-or-rusted-out OEM filter cage: http://re-mx.com/honda-mt250-air-filter Ray |

I’m using the UNI filter- but probably have an original cage kicking around if you’re looking for one |

As Ray mentioned the Re-Mx has the UNI NU-4012 MT250 air filter, which is what I purchased for my restoration. Works very well. |
