 Post subject: manipulating plastic??

Does anyone know how I can get a dented sidepanel back into shape? This bike was a junk yard find and where it was laying over against another bike it put a seemingly permanent dent in the sidepanel. I'd hate to have to replace it with an abs unit since the rest of it is in perfect shape. I thought about using a hairdryer, but I don't think it will make a permanent change in the shape. any ideas??

What you would need is a hot gun. Its like a hair dryer but you use it to peel paint, or soften glue under tile. it would get hot enough to soften the plastic in that spot. maybe try the oven? put it on a cookie sheet and start at about 300deg. just watch it so it dont get to soft and lose its shape.
