Got a '74 GT-80. I want to take off all the lights/horn and associated switches. I'm concerned about screwing things up electrically if I just cut the cables. Bike has magneto. Anything I need to be aware of before I do this. Thanks for your help.

First of all, never cut the cables on J-model bikes they have plug type disconnects to do the job cleanly. Secondly there is a black wire that runs from the mag to the coil , that is the only wire need to make the GT run. You'll have to connect a Kill button to the same wire. There is usually a 2-wire connector already in place to make that happen. Don't cut any wires !!!
