Guys
Please can someone tell me a good source for parts for the above.
I have just rebuilt an Elsinore so I presume YZs are equally well catered for.
All help much appreciated.

Thank you for the space Nathan. Top man.

the 1979 yamaha is an update model.almost every brakeable engine part is only for this model.i have a it400f with a yz400f motor in it.you need to buy gen yamaha pistons for this bike.top end from a 78 wont fit.crank is different.
ebay will become you freind.also find a way to get stuff from the usa as there is abit forsale there.
speed and sport yamaha in pa have a few parts for this model if you cant find any were else.i ring then ang pay via c/c 10 days later the parts are on my door step.

Hi Jim
Many thanks for your reply.
Firstly the flooding. Not personally flooded out but know many who were. What the news didnt tell you is that we had floods in June but the most recent ones were the worst.
We had no running water for 10 days and were thus dependant on water shipped in on bowsers and the army etc bought in bottled water (5 million bottles per day). People are beginning to get back to normal now but those with flood damaged houses have a tough time ahead.

Thanks for the Yamaha info. Can I take it that the F model is a "stand alone" model and is compatible with no other year or does that just apply to the engine?

best regards

Ruairi
