Update,

Finally got the goods on this bike, It is one of 400 that Profab Hall Racing sold here in the US. they were sold as frame kits and used many off the shelf YZ parts, I am in the middle of restoring it and will post up progress, THanks for the space and the site!!!!

And here is what I hope to end up with when finished, this bike is the one that RJ rode to an outdoor 500cc national championship for Yamaha back in the day.

Took the HL500 out for its maiden vouyage, I think the rear shock are a touch long, think I may change them for some 16" still have a few things to do to it, side plates and need an exhaust bracket.

All done, shortened the rear shocks by 1" gives the bike a better stance and I can touch the ground, finally finished the air box, this thing should rip, been to cold to get outside, will post some action shots when it warms up!!!!!!!

Hey, that is great! Im trying to do the exact same thing with a '76 YZ175. Where did you find your parts? Where did you get the seat; did you have it reupholstered? Where did you find the new plastics or did you paint them? Thanks, bike looks awesome!

Ebay, I bought the plastic from a guy in new jersey I think, He had a little bit of new old stock, but it depends on what you are trying to do, you wouldnt wnat new old stock for something you are planning on racing or riding everyday, If this is the case, give DC plastic a try, they will have some plastic that will be very close to the original, I reskinned a 77tt500 with there plastic and it looked awesome. In the early years they used the same fenders and tanks on several models, so find some online microficsh and research what all years and sizes will fit your bike, this will give you a better variety to look for. The tank you need for your 76 125 is also on the 76 100 cc bike, THe fenders that I used were for a 1979 yz 465 if I remember correctly. As far as the seat i think mine is from 78, yz 125 and I found the seat cover on ebay, used an electric staple gun and a six pack of beer. Easy as that, Hope this helps.
