Hi All,
I recently scored a MX 100 1980 that had been left out for 3 years. I drained everything and blew out the carbie etc and finally got it started while the tail pipe was off.The motor started to scream and the revs grew rapidly, I pushed the kill switch,no response, I turned off the petrol ,no response, the headlight started to glow, I took of the tank, no response,it was still screaming, I pulled of the spark plug lead, no response the damn thing was still screaming I finally pulled out the choke and the motor died.
It now starts a bit better but will often die when the choke is pushed in or when the clutch is released,
Any thoughts anyone
Thanks

sounds like you have leaking crankshaft seals or a air leak elsewhere.

might want to clean the carb thoroughly, the second start sounds like it has a plugged pilot jet and it will not idle with it dirty or clogged.
