Hi, I'm brand new to this site and owning a vintage bike for that matter. I recently picked up an older suzuki RM 125 for 40.00 (not bad?) I'm confused on trying to id it. The numbers on the frame by the tree say rm125 - 18201 and the mfg plate says 1975. From what I've found on the bike and through research this is a 1975 rm125m. The only problem I'm having with that is that the exhaust outlet on the head is on the right hand side of the frame tube of the bike if you were looking down while sitting on it. It has a home built cobbled up pipe so I cant use the pipe location for help, but every picture I've seen of 75-? has the exhaust outlet on the left hand side of the head. I've posted a picture that was sent to me from the person I just got it from, quality is very bad but you will get the idea of what I'm talking about. Thanks for any responses.

i think threre´s a wrong engine in it.
look at the enginenumber and the ccm number at the base of the cilinder.
better pics could help too.

Actually, here is the best close up of the engine from the picture I had. If this isn't good enough I'll try again Wednesday. Thanks.

Got it figured out. Its a TS 185. It really fits well inside the frame. There goes the collectors value, but at least I have a cheap toy! By the way, what was the point with two spark plugs on a single cylinder 2 stroke anyway?

FWIW: I built up a TS185 for my grandson a couple of years back. About 5 people have ridden it while waiting for him to come of age, he is only 5 years old now.

Everyone comments on how strong it runs! You have to be careful cranking the throttle open in first gear so you don't wheelie over the top. It will be a fun toy.
