Leaving the gas petcock on all night would definitely cause you to foul a plug. The problem is your crank is full of fuel, and possibly your exhaust pipe as well. Remove your exhaust pipe and dump out any fuel that may have collected in the header. While you have the exhaust pipe off, turn your bike upside down and use your hand to kick the bike over a few times to remove any fuel that has collected in the crank. Put in a fresh plug and fire it up. It will probably smoke like crazy for a few minutes, but keep the throttle pinned until it clears up. Do NOT blip the throttle during this time, or you will foul the plug again.

One of the major causes of hard stating is fouled spark plugs. When a fuel injected engine is starts easily has to be coaxed to life, it often means the spark plugs are overdue for a change. As the electrodes wear, the voltage required to jump the gap and ignite the fuel mixture goes up. At the same time, accumulated deposits on the insulator can drain off voltage before it even has a chance to form a spark. So the engine fails to start or starts only reluctantly after prolonged cranking.
