Picked up this old classic with less than 4500 miles from the original owner.

I was a Can-Am dealer in '74, '75' &76. When we set up the first TNT250 I had to try it. Could not believe how fast it was and how linear the power came on. Also could not know that you could not make them STOP!!!! What a scary end to a first test ride. No road rash, just dirty shorts!!! LOL !

That must have been great seeing all those shiny new Can Am's coming in !!! I know what you mean about the brakes, next to nothing at the rear and the front barely does the job, the power is kind of road racy, not much bottom end but pulls nice in the midrange through the top end, got er up to 60mph but the tires are pretty old.

Carb to Airbox boot had a huge 4" tear in it.

Spark Plug colour looks pretty good, insulator is a little lighter than photo shows.

Airbox/Rear Seat assembly is pretty trick for 1975.
Air filter looks to be home made.

A little elbow grease and the rims didn't come out to bad, for a 31 year old ungaraged bike

Hello:

Remember to fish around in the oil tank for the little sponge filter Canned-Ham put there when it was made. I have seen these little things turn to rock and jamb the oil injection pump. I don't know if they all had this installed. I have seen a few!

Three of the four allan bolts holding the magneto cover on were so tight the heads had to be drilled off to remove it !

original dirt - I know what you mean about the linear power.
My local shop let me test one out. I rode it to my usual riding spot and had NO IDEA I was going so fast down the dirt trail till I saw the dropoff coming up really fast. Locked up the rear, squeezed the front as hard as I could and saw 70mph on the speedo as I looked down at the front wheel/trail. Whoa. I was not so lucky, I laid it on it's side off the drop. A $.0.25 car wash had it looking good.
I also smoked a Yammy DT-360 on the way there. Not saying much as they were pretty much dogs anyhow.

the horse shoe chain stop should be removed. when the chain does dislodge and pile up, its possible ripping a hole in the magneisum block. everyone i have talked to on the subject tells me they are more hassle than they are worth. just a tip.
