Vintage Dirt Bike Q & A

I just sprayed the basecoat silver on my 74 cr125 tank. I am going to clear it in the morning. I have been told to clear over the decals. I got the decals through vmx. I am giving consideration to putting them on top of the clear. If I remember correctly they were on top of the clear originally. How is everybody here doing it? I am afraid of running the clear on the decals.

Most others nowadays clear over the decals. I don't. I'd rather replace a decal than refinish a tank. And I thought the stickers originally were on top, too. But I never had a new bike. All the used ones I've owned had stickers on top.

I went ahead and clearcoated the whole thing, decals and all. Came out great. Added the green stripe and now all i have left is the black.........Steve
