I am just doing a little matching and clean up work, and found something strange.

The edge of the steel liner at the transfer port inlets is horribly thick, sticking out like a top-hat collar you'd see on the top of a press-in cylinder liner. This big thick edge protrudes right out into the transfer inlet area and looks like it would create a ton of turbulence. I am so tempted to grind it down to make it look like ever other cylinder on the planet, but I can't help but think there must be some reason this big shelf was left there.

Who knows something about this particular model and whether I can cut it back to normal without losing something dear?

Thanks!
Jon
