hi, well my stable as of now goes like this:
73 250vr cappra not restored yet
74 250 vr cappra i ahrma vintage race
76 250 va cappra i ahrma pv race
77 125 vb cappra restored
78 250 cappra purchased new by me in 1979
78 360 cappra unrestored and not deliverd till next month
81 349 cota restored
250 cappra converted to 81 h-6 enduro is my current winter project.
i really enjoy finding them and bringing them back to life. they are reliable and fast! the cota is very challenging to ride... it is much better than i am!

I just picked up a 1980 Cota 349 and could use some ignition repair tips and a good used gas tank!

assuming the bearing inside the case is good and is holding the shaft properly there is nothing else but seals. if your bike has a pressed on sprocket on a taperd shaft with a nut you have one seal to deal with. if your sprocket has splines and a press off clip and just slides off the shaft you have the seal in the case and a seal or o-ring behind the sleeve that is behind the sprocket on the shaft. also make sure it is not the kick shaft seal or a crack in the case below and in front of the kick shaft seal. if the mag case has been cracked from the kick start lever going to far it can crack the cases bad enough to let gear oil seep out. more than one of my montesa's have had this problem.
