Lack of spark can come from a number of different things. Assuming you've tried a new spark plug, it could be either the a) the CDI, b) the stator, c) the ignition coil, or d) incorrect, or faulty wiring or wires.
You can test a few of the components with an simple ohmmeter if you know basic electricity. The ignition coil, and the coils in the stator can each be tested with an ohmeter if you know which wires to test and what readings you are supposed to get. Usually if any of them are bad, you will read an open circuit instead of a resistance reading. If the coil and the stator test good, then the problem is probably the CDI or the wiring.
