I have about a 3 week break in races coming up at the end of april and was planning on doing a quicky cosmetic tune up of my CR. I planned on painting the motor, powdercoating frame and swingarm, and cleaning and painting all the little stuff. I have a new set of red DC plastic and new number plate stickers as well. The issue is that i dont want another ALL RED elsinore like all the other 78-80's that i race with on a regular basis. I am not a purist or attempting a full or even partial resto on this bike. This bikes gets raced on a very regular basis, all i want to do is make it look decent for the summer season. I was thinking of a silver frame and swingarm, or maybe a gunmetal dark grey color? If anyone has any pics or ideas i would love to hear them.

Thanks

I think I just threw up in my mouth. Go RAL 3020 on the frame as it'll match the plastic. And do the motor black.

and be another clone? why? These bikes have to much red as it is. I like riding the honda, but it is the ugliest evo bike ever made. Hence the desire to set it apart in a good way.

White frame and handlebars, silver swingarm (actual aluminum would be better) and
triple clamps, grey engine, red plastic, tank and seat cover. A retro 92-96 CR.

dogger

I picked up a 79 CR250 a while back to restore. The motor is red, everything else is white - Petty fenders, frame, tank, FIM style old translucent sidepanels. All that stuff has been white for a long time. The bike is more than a little worn down, but it sure must have stood out in it's better days. Whoever rode this thing back then must have felt like you: they just didn't fit in fitting in.

There is only one color for that year Honda......Tahitian Red.

Any other color is BLASPHEMY.

Is ANYTHING sacred anymore?
