After having jetting issues with the stock carb, I took the advice of some members (redrocket190) and contacted Vintage Elsinores about a Mikuni VM36 jetted and set up for one of their proform pipes. The carbs were on backorder but the wait was worthwhile. Expansion chamber, carb and silencer mounted up with little effort. Just wanted to say thanks to you all for advice and that Vintage Elsinores ROCKS!! :D

What did you do about the extra length of the Mikuni v the stock Keihin? I had my bell ground down to fit.

If you can slowly push the carb in it will go past that lip in the rubber flange of the filter assembly. The filter oil around that area helped me to get it in almost like putting on a tire. It fits very tight. And man is this bike scary again.

I got a Carb, Pipe and Silencer from Vintage Elsinore and I'm very happy with how my 79 CR125 runs! The Mikuni was a snug fit and took patience, soft music and some flowers to get it in there.
