Do i need a special tool to remove the collar that holds the bearing
in on 1 side of my 1977 CR125M?

Looks like the same type of collar used on more modern bikes to adjust the rear shock only it's counterbored into the wheel hub.

It's on there real good & i'd don't won't to beat it so much it gets wrecked.

Any ideas? is it left hand thread maybe?

Thanks for the leads on the Steering stem bearings.

John

denniskirk.com has some type of tool for this but I don't know if they fit. I ended up making one out of a large washer with pins made out of drill bit shanks and welded together-

I am not proud, but when I found out the Honda tool was discontinued I popped down the local dealer. They whipped out the retainer and swapped the bearings for free.
