hi
my 1973 cr250 is in real bad shape and i can get a complete 1975 cr250 for a good price.
will the tank swap over
can i swap out engine ie strip 73 motor and replace with all 75 parts crank and all.
control cables brake clutch etc
are the frames different

75 has many good parts but the motor is not a bolt in swap. Exhaust exits on the other side in the 75 model. Rod is longer so crank will not swap. The complete tranny from the 75 will go in the 73 cases and is a stronger unit. The clutch and its cover are the same. The cases are different as well as the cylinder. All the cables should be the same the rear brake may be slightly different. If you get the 75 cheap it would be still be a great source of parts.
