Hi...I'm wanting to get a bit more performance out of my '74 MT250. Will an expansion chamber-type exhaust like a Bassani get me more oomph? Are there other expansion chambers out there to look for? What else would I need to do if I put one of these on? Re-jet carb? What would I do there? Thanks in advance for the free advice

Hi danb I have a basani pipe for an mt250 if your interested let me know. I also think you may need to rejet but dont know for sure. I bought it for my bike but then ended up doing a whole lot more to it and couldnt use the pipe anymore.

I run a Bassani on one of my MTs. It alone does not give the MT CR type performance. My guess would be ~an extra 4hp or so. I'm not taking it off understand, but it is the equivalent of adding a very small lawn mower engine.

I am still running the stock carburetor which are rather small. Maybe one day I will look at getting a bigger carb but I am satisfied with the bike for now.
