All,
Attached are some pics of my almost ready to race 1981 CR125. This has been a ongoing project for over a year now. Tons of hours and searching involved.. Its not a 100 point show bike, I would give a 80 to 90% rating but this is a race ready bike, not a show piece. I would do a few things differently next time, mostly becuase of budget reasons but mainly I would anodize in the correct color much of the hardware instead of so much polishing and clear coating, less paint and more powdercoating, fresh rims and spokes..The engine is fresh, it has a brand new never used period race kit flat slide carburetor, the suspension is all rebuilt.. Left to complete is to replace the rear wheel bearings, chain rollers, new UNi-Filter, and have the rear shock rebuilt. It should be ready for the first engine start next weekend.
It will probably be up for sale, as for now its tough to think about getting it dirty after so much TLC.. but still undecided. Opinions? Hope you enjoy the memories..
