My brother gave me a 1980 CR-250. It is in need of restoring. Apparently it has a new top-end and head on it with new sprockets and chain along with new cables. I got it to start and run after about 30 minutes of tinkering with it. It runs great and idles good but the clutches seem to be sticking. It will need wheel bearings and brakes and some tlc. I currently race motocross and do not have the time or money to put into it, Should I restore it or sell it? If so how much would it be worth in this condition if I decided to sell it? It has been stored in a barn for many years and all considering it doesn't look that bad.

If you don't have the time or money, why keep it when it could be in the hands of someone who will restore and/or race it? $800-$1000.

I would be willing to sell it for that but not much less considering how well it actually runs. I wish I knew more about the history of this bike. If I do decide to restore it I probably could have it in pretty good shape for $300-$500. If I wanted to sell it where would be a good place to put the ad?

I am going to be traveling in Europe and will miss Duel in the Desert. I am going to check out the CalVMX and AVDRA schedules this year, particularly if I can ride my modern bike as well as the Elsinore. If I can find some funds, I'll have the top-end re-done and race the Elsinore at the Adelanto GP end of Feb. (Have three entries for the modern bike.)
