Yes, I know. I've posted about this before, but I still don't get it. I feel retarded. I am still unsure how the oil pump cable connects to the oil pump.

I purchased a brand new Throttle/Oil Pump cable from Bike Bandit. I have an oil pump for the MT250 that is installed nicely. How does it connect to the pump itself? The oil pump cable has your typical cable nub on the end of it, but there doesnt seem to be a place on the oil pump to accept the cable. I have the clymer manual, but black and white drawings show me nothing. Does anyone have pictures or anything to show me how to connect these two? I doesn't seem like rocket science, but this one is!

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Cordially,

A very dumbfounded enthusiast!

Dont feel bad I think I may know what the problem is. I have my oil pump in my hand took it off and am using premix on the street with no petcock on the tank so no reserve I think it shall be interesting. Anyways the oil pump has an arm bolted to it that the cable goes in. Its very obvious so yours is probably not there. I dont really want to take a pic but you can see what I am talking about in the bike bandit micro fiche look at the bottom of the pump in the pic its the round looking part thats where the cable goes in someone probably took yours off and lost it. My pump worked fine when I took it off let me know if your interested in it.

Hey there,

Thanks for the reply. I do have the arm on the pump which is where I figured it would go. However, the oil pump cable doesn't have a knob at the end. It's just a plain end with no knob. If the cable had a knob end to it then it would be easy. Am I still missing something here?

Still confused!

AHHHHH HAAAAA!!!

I got it! Thank goodness I save ALL of my spare parts. I found the missing link in a bag of spare parts for the oil pump. I didn't even notice it before. And God knows where it came from. What a PITA. This stupid part could not be more than seven cents if you were to order it seperate from somewhere.

Now I can finally move on to other parts of my bike!

Thanks again.

Kyle
