Vintage Dirt Bike Q & A

I have a partial CR250 and am attempting to finish it for riding.
It is an 82 and I have shopped Ebay for various parts.
My problem is finding out what years will fit my particular needs.
For instance, I have purchased a pair of 84 forks and front wheel to gain a front disk brake. It was difficult to find information matching the fork diameter to the triple-tree.
Now I want to match those forks with a caliper / brake line assembly but cannot find one for specifically an 84.
I have located an 89 lever/res/caliper but am hesitant to purchase because I dont know if it will mount to my 84 forks...

My question is, where can I go to seek answers for matching different year parts to my bike?

And if anyone knows if the 89 brake assm will fit my 84 forks, I'd be much apprec!!
