Is a 1980 cr125r engine case the same case as the 1979 cr125r?

i was told by someone on here that the main brg. size is differant. i wonder about trans gears and other engine parts. whats wrong with yours? i needed a case to, mine had sat with water in the bottom of the crank area and ate a hole through the case there. i had it welded but then found a nice one on ebay for the right price. :)

Mine has been welded where the swingarm axle goes through. I bought one last night off of ebay from a low mile 1980 that looks really nice for $100. then realized I had the 1 and 0 on the engine number switched around.The 1980 was JE10E and the 1979 was JE01E.

if the main brgs. are not the same. i would think a good bearing supply co. could get brgs. that would fit your 79 crank and the 80 case. let use know how you solve this

this can“t be, cause JE01E is the enginemodelcode for all CR125 from 1979 till now.

The 1980 case is made to fit larger diameter main bearings.

looks like the seller had a misprint on his ebay add the correct engine number on the 1980 case did start out the same as the 1979 case JEO1E. Thanks for everyones help . I sure hope the main bearing is the only differents.
