My '81 CR450 is a b*stard to start when cold. Once I've got it going once, it usually restarts easily. Is there a quick remedy? |

AS long as good plug and good compression on of two things - Check ensure carb is clean, all passages not blocked, then pilot jet size is one factor if not correct. Also ensure you use choke and NO throttle DONT touch it. IT normally should start 2 or 3 kick if correct |

Thanx for the info! Good to know all 450s aren't hopeless to start! I'll go through the engine thoroughly this winter, and hope for a summer full of two stroke music! |

Here is a little trick i found to work. Just heat the plug with a lighter. Then put it back into the bike. Just dont burn your hands. LOL! |
