Hey Guys, Anyone know what's in the stock rear shocks on my 77 Cr125M, there's tire valve air stems on each? is air ? or Nitrogen? My problem is there's too much preload on them (they spring back way too fast) it's like riding a pogo stick! if there just air filled i can just lower the pressure i guess right? John |

If you bounce like a pogo stick you can bet that the shocks have no oil in them. As far as the air valve what do the shocks look like? |

He is right there is probably no oil left in them. If you try to let air out you will probably find no air in the either. Time to rebuild or replace. |

Those shocks weren't any good in 1977 and almost 30 years surely hasn't made them any better. If you are going to ride at any speed above 1st gear buy yourself something that works. You can choose from Ohlins (very expensive, very good), Works Performance (still expensive, good shocks) or Progressive (would work fine on a non-race bike, less expensive) or maybe even a set of Falcons (hard to find, but less expensive). |
