Thinking about buying a MR 50 for my kid. I have not seen one up close in a long time. What age kid would this bike be good for? Also, any recs as to where parts can be found? Thanks.

Your ultimate source for all things MR50 is http://www.re-mx.com . They have pretty much all you'll need to take care of one of these gems.

Hi,
The MR50 was my first bike and I started on it at age 8. My nephew rode one in grade 1. I think he was 7. I have an MR50 for my little girl and I will be putting her on it when she is around 7 or so depending on her height.
Great bike.

My father said to me that when both feet touched the ground while sitting on the bike. That he would then teach me how to ride. I was 11 when i finaly road my old mans 250 Elsie.

My third grandchild was born this month. First one I got a Suzuki TS185 and Honda XR75 for when he comes of age. Second was a girl so... we will see. Thinking about an appropriate time capsule for the newest.

It's my daughter and son in laws choice of course. I'm thinking demonstrating proficiency on a bicycle is going to be at least one hurdle they have to jump.

Ever seen "On Any Sunday"? The little kid doing a wheelie on the Honda 50 Monkey bike is Jeff Ward. Ward was born in 1961, movie came out in 1971 so figure he was around 8-10 years old and still on a mini.
