Post subject:  Obsolete Suppliers for CR?

Hello All -

I am in the process of restoring my 1987 Honda CR 125R and I need the seat cover. I called the dealer and they said it is obsolete.

The part # is 77101-KS6-770

Does anyone have any leads where I might could find one?

Thanks and God Bless!
David

Michael,

I called up Ceet and they said that they have a Blue Seat Cover but can't put the CR on the side of the seat.

I would like the CR on the seat - any ideas?

Thanks!

I pulled my Ceet Racing cover out of storage, and was a little surprised to find it does not have the CR logo. The 1998 version I have in tomato red does. Go figure! But we are in the same boat. The answer is probably to do some research on line or in the Yellow Pages and find a service house that can print onto vinyl. My 1987 project is some way off, but that is what I would do when I get to it. In the meanwhile if you want me to trace the logo on the cover that does have it, I'll do that. Or scan it as the printing operations are now all digital...

Send me an email and I will email you back the logo in JPEG and Photoshop format....worst case burn a CD-ROM and stick in the mail.

Take the 1:1 scale artwork of the logo you want and trace it on some peel and stick vinyl, perhaps some for number plates or similar. Use an exacto knife to cut out the logo. Peel the backing off and stick it on the seat where you want the logo. Go to the auto parts store and get some vinyl spray paint in the color you want that is used to paint door panels, dashes, seats, etc... Mask off the area around the logo so you don't get over spray on the rest of the seat and frame. Spray paint the logo and let the paint dry. Peel the vinyl off the seat. Ta Da! You now have the logo on the seat. :)

Nathan, pretty slick idea!! Now I know how I can make mine look better than it does. Great site ya got here! Just got back into dirt bikes after 25 years, feel like a kid again!! Have already got some advice from Redrocket that helped me out.
Sure great of you guys to help an old guy like me out, its amazing how much you forget about motors, little tricks and the such.
The bug has bit me, got my eye on an 81 Husky 250, and one of these days would like to find a TM400, DT2 250, SL100, 76 RM250 and a 70's anything YZ 250 and my life would be complete.
