Hi guys, purchased a 73 elsinore tank and it has years of gas/oil residue inside. I have tried carb cleaner and it is still not cleaning out- any suggustions? Thanks |

You might have to submerge it in a can of carb cleaner, it will take all the paint and decals off though, and take the rubbers off, it will eat those up. |

a solution I have heard of but not tried myself is to put a mixture of fuel and grit/sand into the tank - maybe 1/4 full and agitate. This acts as a sandblasting media. If it works you would need to do a flush anyway. if you try it let me know how it goes? regards Rossco |

Try taking your tank to a Radiator Shop & have them dip it. Worth a try?? |

Try acetone, be carefull it will desolve paint as well. |
