G`day from Australia, could anyone help with info? Iam mounting a LOP alloy arm on my cr250 80 model have 17.5 inch fox air shocks to use aswell, first problem is clearence on shock body{top hitting frame} second problem left hand shock is not vertical when mounted {slight angle in towards swingarm mount } is this normal? will it cause a problem?anyone fitted one of these arms before and had the same problems? any info would be really great. Thanks Mark Birkett { hope you guys are having a great holiday.}

Those shocks are too long for an LOP arm, they take a 16" and up to 16 1/2" shock lengths. The shocks should be pretty much in line with each other. It was very common for people to grind the fins off the Fox shocks to make them fit, but don't do it to those shocks, and you may be seeing an extreme case of interfering because the shocks are too long and they have the shock angle steeper than it would normally be. A nice set of Ohlins piggybacks would be the trick setup for that bike. :D

I had a very slight clearance problem with the forward edge of the Fox Shox body and the frame of my 1979 CR250R. Coached by Brian Rivers I masked the frame with tape, marked the spot with a Sharpie, and put a small dimple there with a ball-peen hammer. Works perfectly and of course the shocks are un-marked.
