Just bought a 79 CR125. I've owned a 79 250, and decided to see what its little brother is like. I'm looking for any information that has anything to do with upgrading the suspension and the 23" front wheel. Can you still get 23" front tires, and how are the stock forks. I know the rear shocks are throwaway items right from the factory, as are most twin shocks. Is there any kind of porting work that can be done to the engine to alter the explosive powerband? I hear these bikes eat piston and rings often. Anything can be done to prolong piston life? Thanks for any replies in advance. |

The only tire manufacturer I know of that makes a 23" tire for the '79 CR125R is Cheng Shin, which translates into Cheap S#$+. But, it's better than running it on the rim....Hmmm that could be a close call. ![]() The model is C183D 3.00-23 4PR TT |

I got a lot of what I needed from a company called ACM-Powersports.com Got a set of front and rear tires for my 70 Honda CR 125 Elsinore plus other stuff. The tires were on back order, but I finally got them. Just ordered a chain sprocket, tubes and a sprocket bolt & nut kit. Not too many folks can get a 23 inch tire. EB Austin, Texas |
