Can anyone out there tell me what 81 or later front end will work on a 79 CR250 and how hard it is to bolt it on? Can it be done just by mounting the 81 triple tree or are mods needed? |

I have tried 1982 and 1983 front-ends and they drop right in. I would be confident that the 1981 one will be the same. However you may find that the steerer tube is a bit longer and you need add a spacer between the upper bearing and triple clamp. Or you might be able to have a shop push out the older steerer and push it into the newer lower triple clamp for a perfect fit. Done both, prefer the latter. |
