Post subject: | new MT250 owner with question... |
I recently aquired a 1973 MT250 that I plan on getting running again and putting back to good condition. I have a few questions for those of you that have been dealing with Vintage Honda's, and the MT250 specifically. Is the '73 more of a rare bike than the 74-76? I can't seem to find parts for it nearly as easy as the others. I can't seem to find a good place to purchase the basics like throttle cable, fork seals, etc. I know they are not super common but the later models can be found quite easily. I was also curious on the exhaust mount for the MT250. I see the side exhaust most often and mine has the exhaust mounted under the bike. Did that change from 73 to 74 or was that something that someone altered? Sorry for so many questions but I am very excited about putting her back together that I just want to know more. Any and all help is appreciated. Steering me towards good sources of information would be great let alone websites to purchase goods. Cheers, Matthew |

Officially Honda made MT250s from 74 to 76. A 73 is the date on the frame but it is a 74 model. Most of the non cosmetic parts are all the same from 74-76. The down pipe might be off of a CR250M. The MT250 had the pipe along the right side. If you need hard parts I have three parts bikes. mailto:Elsinorestuff@qwest.net |
