Through bad planning I have ended up with a mis-matched set of rings and cylinder for my 1979 CR250R. The 2756CD rings go with a sleeved cylinder and the 2756CDM rings go with the stock chrome cylinder. Anyone know the outcome if you use the 2756CD rings on the chrome? This would only be for one 45 min race...

Hi Mike. According to my Wiseco book you can not use CD rings with a chrome bore. They CAPITALIZED the warning, so I would take them for their word.

Thanks! I had assumed the worst and my post was a bit of a hail Mary. I will miss riding the Honda in the Bomber class at the Elsinore GP, but I just learned I can ride a CR500R in the Open class. Life's not so bad after all...

Not a good idea, the CD ring is chrome, chrome on chrome will seize!

Again, thanks Sam! I was very disappointed not to race the Bomber class at the Elsinore GP, but there were several other "red rockets" entered, including the race winner! They were taking photos of a pristine '78 CR250R (#217) and then the guy went out and raced it. Bravo. For my part I borrowed a '99 CR500R which turned out to be the experience of a life time....even if went backwards simply trying to hold on to it.
