Does anyone have one of these bikes and runs a newer up better frontend? I am familar with the upgrades for the 79' 250 and I know that the 125 and 250 frontend interchange completely, so would a 43mm set be the best bet? I'm not sure about the weight difference and I don't want to make the bike too heavy. I am also running the stock 23" front wheel. Any help would be greatly appreciated. |

You can run 41mm Showas (1981), 43mm Kayabas (1982) or 43mm Showas (1983). Your best approach may be to use the first set of acceptable quality that is available. I would not worry about the additional weight. |

I have an extra set of front forks from a 79 CR 125 Elsinore that I will sell you if interested. I also have other items for the 79 125 mailto:info@laser-rechargetx.com 512-671-3445 |

I'd focus on the 43mm, I found some 41mm, but had a tough time finding a tree. Appears to be more 43mm out there floating around. |

There is really no reason to go for the 41mm unless you want to be accurate in creating some form of late 70s replica factory bike which hadn't got to 43mm yet. The 41mm will definitely be harder to find because there are fewer 1981 donor bikes out there. |
