I'm restoring my 1977 MR175 that I owned since new.
I'm desperate for an oversize piston. I have exhausted all resources that I can think of. Wiseco, Honda etc is a no.

Can any of you gents point me in the right direction?

Thanks,

Mike

I can sympathize with you. I've been looking too. Wiseco used to make them because there was one on ebay last week that went for over $100. They no longer make them though.
Good luck.

Thanks for sympathizing.

I have even phoned several dealers that appear to have the piston according to their online micro-fiche, part number 13102-373-000.
Once they do a physical stock check, it is not available.

In the automotive business, many dealers can do a "dealer-search" and find a NOS part elsewhere.....but it appears that the MC dealers I tried do not do this.

Here you go save your money I think it is in Euro's. Easy company to deal with they were the only ones who had the parts I needed for my MR 250

Thanks Gary,
I tried emailing them, but no response yet.
They are in Holland, I believe?

Thanks for your reply, Vintage racer.

I think that Model Code 395 is for a MR250.
Even though the bore could be the same, the 250 has a longer stroke, so I don't think the pin-height on the piston would be the same, but I don't know.

The older MR250's stock cylinder bore was 70 mm. The MR175 was 66 mm.
So..the MR250 (model code 395) piston will NOT fit a MR175.

I did receive an email from someone that has a Wiseco old stock oversize piston kit. I have emailed Wiseco to see if they can confirm that the partnumber is correct.
I'll keep you posted.

Sorry about that, I used a Model Code Website for that info and I guess their wrong. They actually have the MR175 and MR250 listed as the same code now that I checked again. Heres the link---

Thanks Gary,
No, I didn't try them. I tried other Honda dealers that had the MR-series listed on their online microfiche.
I looked around on CMSNL's website and I will certainly give them a try .
Thanks for the info,

Mike

UPDATE:

Doing a parts-search by part-number, CMSNL had NO piston parts for the MR175, NO airfilter and NO clutch-cable. This seems to be the same among all the part-suppliers for this model.
I seem to be *&^% out of luck....but I'll still email them and see if they can get a piston.

Mike - when I gave you the link they were on there and now they are not. They still list a cable tho. Go to search by part number and in center 3 digit field type in product code 373, that will give you all the parts they have. Check out denniskirk.com,they used to list clutch cables by motion pro.

I did a parts search on CMSNL. Thanks Gary Starr, for the tip.
There is a way to check parts "backwards" there as well. I found that many parts for the MR175 do not necessarily have the -373- number.
I found out that the clutch cable number has changed up and is now interchangeble with other model codes such as for the CR125 and MT 125.

So, Gary you are right, Cmsnl DO list many parts for the MR175.....
....except ANY pistons
