I've got a 1975 MT250. Before I give up and bring it in to a shop maybe someone can help me out. It starts right up, idles fairly smoothly, but when you hit the throttle it does not have the power it should. Once it gets going it picks up fine. I've taken the carb apart six times, I think I timed it correctly, compression is 125-130 lbs. Exhaust is stock, and clear. Any ideas? Thanks much. |

Make sure the needle is properly retained in the slide. I've had two different bike display similar performance, idle and good performance to ~1/4 throttle then nothing until WOT and high RPMs. In both cases it was the needle not being held in proper position. Fairly easy to check w/o taking the carb apart. Just open the throttle ~3/4s and stick your finger inside to push up on the needle. If it moves more then ~1mm you have a problem. Rick |

Well that's not it. Even tried it on a couple of different settings, thanks anyway. |
