Hello I have a 76 Honda MR 250 this thing had been rode hard put away wet and then left dangling apart. I need help getting it to give a spark. I have new points condensers coils and diodes. I have replaced the wires and connectors cleaned up the stator and rotor. Points have been set perfect at 12 and at 14 no change the timing set correct. I set meter on DC on one the wire connection from stator and after repeated kicks get only 5.9 Volts DC. I measure with meter on AC and can only get about 22 Volts AC. Parts are not cheap and used not really guaranteed that's the only reason I have not tried another stator and rotor. IF I wire in the diode bridge I get nothing threw it. If I connect wire to Just the capacitor and Coil I get no spark. I have tried 2 new coils and capacitors. Have meter checked the caps and coils they measure good have measured the diodes and 4. 5 ohms threw each I have run a heavy ground from engine to coil ground mount so there is .001 ohms between stator frame and coil mount ground. If there is someone who can tell me what resistance I should have on the one coil in the stator and what voltage I should expect to see out etc. I'll probably find my issue. Thanks |
