Hi

I have just come across 2 brand new, uncrated 1977 cr 125's, what price would you advise to offer for purchase.

I have been looking for one of these to restore, but this seems ideal.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

Its not even April 1st and already starting pulling my leg.

I know where there are 2 1974 Honda CR125 that Marty Smith only rode one time and the guy that has them in his living room and starts them every April 1st.

No, it's not 1st April, I believe it's the 12th Feb today.

These bikes really do exist, only 1 has been started. It's like stepping back 30 years in time. The condition is mint, no rubbers have perished. BRAND NEW!

Any help, would really be appreciated.

Thanks

It's a good story but one that is hard to believe. I have verified only two urban legends about finds like this.

One was a lady whose husband died and sold their Jaguar for $600. When my friend showed up to buy it after it was already gone he asked her what was wrong with it. She said it was in fine shape so he asked why did she sell it so cheap. She replied ~"Well it is 5 years old. That is all a five year old car is worth right?"

The other was an almost finished '40 Ford coupe, I actually saw the car and talked to the people myself. This was back in the 70's and it turned out the guy who was building it got killed in Viet Nam and his parents just wanted to see it get to someone who would appreciate it.

There's just not a good reason why there would be two pristine CR125s. I mean people bought them to ride them.

Thing is, a pristine 1977 CR125 is probably worth more then a restored 1977 CR125 by about triple. I could see where someone might of thought "If I tell him its restored he may only pay $1,200 and complain but if I tell him it is original unridden he'll give me $1,500 and be happy!"

Rick

I wanta ride, I wanta ride. Nice photos of a super bike. Where is my PM with the phone number of where the other bike is. If I was you I would go and get the other BIKE and sell it to ME. I will trade you a 1974 Yamaha DT250 without lights.

Now, the question is.......

Do I buy the other bike and then sell it on.

Obviously I know what I paid for mine. What would you expect to pay for it?

It depends on what you wanted to do with the bike. Put it in you living room and look at it or ride and race it in vintage events. After the first time you ride its a used motorcycle. I got a 2006 Honda CRF450 that I can't sell it for $4300 now and it cost me $6300 new 15 months ago.

I rather spend my money on something that I can ride. Am sure there are peeps that would buy a motorcycle just to look at it, but that not me. Good luck with your great find. Spill the beans and tell us where you found the bikes and how you found out about them.
