What's the best way to remove rust from gas tank? Also what's the proper sixe carb for a 74 mt250? |

I always used course gravel. Remove all gas, rinse it with water and put a quart or two of gravel in it. Shake it as hard as you can for maybe 1/2 hour. Empty it out, rinse it for several minutes, air dry it and put gas in the same day. Be forwarned: Your tank may begin to leak now. This is due to the rust eating almost all the way through already. |

thanks. rust isnt too bad allready took outside to metal no cancer eating through the outside |

1 part molasses 5 parts water - mix it - fill tank and let sit for 2 weeks - clean up - i then use qwik poly that i got from the xs650 society - works a treat and you can save and reuse you mixture for latter - this is also listed on thevincent.com site - just finished same on a cl350 tank - oh and you can lick you fingers during the mixing if you want - sweet |
